Paint totes for souvenir marketIt’s a given that most of the stores and stalls in our tourist areas offer beautiful tee shirts and totes to their customers. Unfortunately, in walking from one store to the next there is rarely any difference in what is being offered. Perhaps the mood and décor is different, and maybe the staff in one store is a little more generous with their time and smiles, but when it comes down to it, many of the products just look like a rubber stamp of their neighbor’s goods.

This is something that can be remedied with just a little bit of effort. So what if most of the vendors purchase from the same sources, how could one product stand out from the next? Well, I’m glad you asked. It’s called enhancing. You simple enhance or embellish your basic product with something that will make it stand out.

Now it doesn’t have to be a one-of-a-kind item but it could be a tee, tote or some other product that has been embellished to stand out a little more than the rest. So keep the gorgeous tee with “Bahamas” on it, but for the lady who wants something a little jazzier, some effort in embellishing a Bahamas tee and tote could be quite eye-catching and break the dreaded look-alike saga.

Maybe for those who are a bit more adventurous, just painting a simple design on your product would be just as effective. How about a single hibiscus flower for starters? Now that’s added value and distinction.
